What is Day Training?
Day training is a middle ground between private lessons (where you train your dog) and board & trains (where your dog isn't home for weeks at a time). You can enjoy the convenience of having a professional train your dog for you and the relationship benefits of having your dog at home during training.
A trainer works with your dog in 30-60 min sessions 1-3 times per week, and shares what your dog has learned with you in "transfer lessons" every few sessions, that you can use your dog's new skills in every-day life.
What you need to know
Where do you train my dog?
We train in your home and neighborhood (within walking distance). If the weather is unsafe, we can focus on skills that can be taught within your home, or have you meet us at a pet-friendly indoor location to drop-off & pick-up your dog, depending on your schedule.
Do I have to be home?
You don't have to be home - you and your trainer can work out logistics around keys, codes, and dog gear ahead of time.

Dogs are individuals, so it can vary! Our packages plan for 6 or 8 weeks, but you may choose to add "refills" 4 weeks at a time if you would like your dog to continue after your initial package.

What can my dog learn in day training?
Some common behaviors to work on in day training are reactivity on walks, fear of new places, cooperative care (nail trims, grooming, tooth brushing), and loose leash walking. Things that can be taught in focused sessions are a great fit. Things like potty training - that need daily consistency from you at home - may be a better fit for private lessons.
